Warwick castle from the spire of St Nicholas Church
18th October 2011 11:13:42
The trouble with this job is that people keep asking you to go up in the air...balloons, gliders, traffic helicopters (never accept the last one...you'll be seasick for a month).
Last week the vicar of St Nicholas, Warwick, the lovely Linda Duckers, invited me to climb the rebuilt church spire while the scaffolding was still in place. For a chap like me, it was an effort - 180 feet up ladders - but the reward was a rarely glimpsed and spectacular view.
Luckily it was a fine and gentle day, and I was able to get this shot of Warwick Castle from a most unconventional angle before the hairy descent. It only took an hour or so for the knee wobbles to wear off.
If you've got pictures of Warwickshire - whether they gave you the wobbles or not - upload them to the website. We love to see them.
